Hours and Schedule

Hours for this position : 3rd shift, 6 days per week. Production days work 10 : 30 PM to 7 : 30 AM; non-production days work 5 : 30 AM to 2 : 30 PM. You will earn an extra $2.75 per hour for working the specified schedule.

Compensation

The starting salary ranges from $25.50 to $36.40 per hour, depending on the skills and experience as assessed by the hiring manager. There is also a chance to elevate your pay by advancing to the next skill level through testing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance support with moderate supervision to ensure the safe and effective operation of equipment and team.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance repairs on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic plant equipment.
• Conduct emergency mechanical or electrical repairs as needed.
• Troubleshoot issues related to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
• Safely apply knowledge and troubleshooting skills to all assigned production equipment.
• Effectively interact with all plant personnel to accomplish plant and individual goals.
• Minimize downtime due to equipment failure.
• Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed.
• Must be able and willing to furnish your own tools.

Physical Requirements : The successful candidate must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

Education and Experience : Minimum 2 years of mechanic work experience documented in the work history section of the application or be a graduate of an industrial maintenance training program. (Can be a combination of employers as long as experience is at least 2 years).

SPECIAL SKILLS :

Applicants will be considered for General Maintenance level openings. Leveling is determined during the interview process based on skillset, knowledge, and experience. Candidates who have previously worked for Tyson will have a minimum rehire waiting period of 90 days and are limited to 3 times of employment.
