Job Summary
The Quality Manager will develop and maintain our Quality Management System and Environmental Management System. The position will be based out of Fairburn, GA site.
Main Responsibilities
Ensure the Quality Management System and the Environmental Management Systems are followed through across the region :
Deal with certification inspectorsUpdate, facilitate, and enforce ISO ProgramsTrack non-conformitiesFormulate, document, and maintain quality control standards and ongoing quality control objectives.Oversee Quality Assurance checks throughout our process and supply chain.Supervise workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure high productivity and high technical integrity.Ensure a high level of internal and external customer service. Investigate and correct customer non-conforming issues and complaints relating to quality.Report non-conformities and communicate these items to the Site Managers, Shop Supervisors / Employees. Generate action plans for implementation.Plan, conduct, and monitor testing and inspection of materials and products to ensure finished product quality.Apply total quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes.Support Nefab Sourcing and work with vendors to ensure quality of all purchased parts. Conduct and support on-site audits at external suppliers.Recommend improved designs if safety, quality, or efficiency dictates.Define a reporting system to track successes and improvements needed in this area.Conduct customer and vendor visits / communication as appropriate.Collect and compile statistical quality data.Analyze data to identify areas for improvement in the quality system.Conduct quarterly Quality review meetings internally.Prepare reports to communicate outcomes of quality activities.Identify training needs and organize training interventions to meet quality standards.Drive internal audits and other quality assurance activitiesCoordinate and support on-site audits conducted by external providers.Evaluate audit findings and implement appropriate corrective actions.Monitor risk management activities.Assure ongoing compliance with quality and industry regulatory requirementsHealth & SafetyWork with Production Manager to track safety hours worked without incident and update reporting boards.
Identify unsafe work habits, report, and work with Production Manager to implement any changes accordingly.Lean initiatives / Continuous improvementsMap current flow and continuously evaluate and implement flow improvements with the General Manager and Production Manager at the local sites.
Develop initiatives that will maximize product reliability and minimize costs.Develop and implement 5S across the organizationGenerate and maintain a reporting system to track successes and improvements needed in this areaLead internal continuous improvement teams.Drives continuous improvement efforts, including but not limited to Kaizen events, 6-S events, 5s, Cost Reduction strategies, & Business Improvement planning / development.Minimum Experience And Education Requirements
EDUCATION
BS Degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Quality Engineering.7+ years of Quality Control and Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.Experience
Experience participating or leading ISO audits and a proven track record of successExperience working with Lean Manufacturing strategies and methodologies; knowledge of 8D Root Cause AnalysisExperience developing and implementing a Quality Management System.LANGUAGES
Fluent in English, both written and verbalAbility to read, analyze and interpret the most complex legal and financial documentsAbility to be able to communicate clearly and effectively to all employees, customer, and vendorsAbility to be able to make effective persuasive presentationsSkills And Competences
