The Graphic Design team at Felsburg Holt & Ullevig (FHU) is seeking a versatile and creative Graphic Designer to join our collaborative team. This role supports offices across Colorado, Nebraska, Iowa, South Dakota, and Utah, offering opportunities to create a wide range of visual materials that help engineers, planners, and scientists communicate complex ideas through clear, engaging, and high-impact design.
The Graphic Designer will work closely with technical staff, company marketers, communications specialists and Senior Graphic Designers to generate, produce, and compile a wide range of deliverables, including :
- Project figures, client reports, project proposals, and infographics
- Creating and formatting maps, cross sections, and technical diagrams to clearly communicate engineering concepts and incorporate data visualization elements (e.g., thematic maps, project phasing) to a range of audiences
- Designing branded materials, presentations, large format displays, and handouts for public meetings, open houses and stakeholder workshops, and conferences
- Collaborating with marketing teams on proposal and pursuit graphics, including covers, organization charts, schedules, and infographics, often on quick deadlines
- Supporting communication campaigns, award entries, and video editing
- Ensuring consistency with FHU branding, templates, and style standards across all materials

This position is preferred to be based in our Omaha, NE office. We will consider applicants based in Denver, Colorado.
This is a full-time role, and in-office presence is required.

Qualifications and Experience
3–7+ years of relevant Graphic Design experienceExperience in a MAC-based environmentProficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign required, (After Effects & Premiere Pro preferred)Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, especially PowerPointStrong verbal and written communication, document layout, and time management skillsAbility to manage multiple deadlines and collaborate across teamsAbility to accept feedback and creative directionPreferred Experience
Experience in the architecture, engineering, or planning (A / E / P) industry, with familiarity in engineering terminology and the flexibility to produce a range of materials—from precise technical exhibits to creative, visually appealing designs.Knowledge of large-format printing and production, including plotters and public meeting boardsExperience working with GIS and CAD platforms integrating CAD / GIS outputs into design deliverablesBasic understanding of Section 508 guidance in designStrong file organization and version control skillsManage multiple shared design libraries and project filesFamiliarity with HTML, CSS, WordPress, and SquarespaceExperience with short-form video / animation creationEducation
Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design preferredMinimum Associate’s (2-year) degree in Graphic Design requiredCompensation
The pay for this position ranges from $29–$41 per hour . The actual offer will carefully consider a range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, and experience.
