A skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Educator to join our team.
The Nurse Educator is responsible for staff development, employee health programs, orientation, and ongoing education to ensure best practices, compliance, and quality care. The role involves coaching and training staff, monitoring performance, and helping maintain a strong culture of professional growth and excellent resident care. This position reports to the Director of Nursing.
Responsibilities
- Lead staff development programs on safety, infection control, body mechanics, and other regulatory topics
- Coach, counsel, and support staff performance; may participate in disciplinary processes
- Maintain professional knowledge through workshops, publications, and networking
- Document educational activity, attendance, and outcomes
- Participate in QAPI meetings and initiatives
- Collaborate with leadership to plan, coordinate, and implement staff education
- Assist with data collection for staff assessments and evaluations
- Maintain effective relationships with employees, leadership, and external partners
- Oversee employee health initiatives including TB testing, Hepatitis B vaccines, OSHA reporting, and return-to-work coordination
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
Minimum 3 years of Nurse Educator experience in long-term careCurrent New York State RN licenseCPR certification required (CPR trainer certification preferred or willingness to obtain)Prior long-term care or rehabilitation nursing experienceStrong coaching and communication skills with diverse staffKnowledge of OSHA, infection control, safety, and emergency preparedness protocolsCommitment to discretion, professionalism, and confidentialityCompensation & Benefits
