A video editor is required to support the launch of a new YouTube channel by editing a first full-length video and producing a short-form version optimized for social platforms. The main project includes editing a 4-minute YouTube video and creating a 45-second Short / Reel cut tailored for YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, and TikTok. The editor should ensure smooth pacing, professional transitions, and engaging visual elements, with the goal of capturing attention quickly and maintaining high-quality storytelling. This is a remote freelance project with strong potential for future collaborations.

Responsibilities

  • Edit a 4-minute YouTube video with polished pacing, cuts, and transitions
  • Produce a 45-second version optimized for YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, and TikTok
  • Add captions, background audio, and simple on-screen graphics to enhance engagement
  • Ensure deliverables are in correct formats for YouTube and social media platforms
  • Provide export-ready files and editable project files for future use
  • Apply feedback and revisions promptly to align with creative vision

Requirements

  • Proven experience editing videos for YouTube, Shorts, Reels, or TikTok
  • Proficiency in editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve
  • Strong sense of timing, pacing, and storytelling tailored to digital audiences
  • Knowledge of current social media video trends and platform-specific requirements
  • Ability to add captions, background music, and light motion graphics
  • Strong communication skills for collaboration and incorporating feedback
