Overview :

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Debt Retention Specialist to join our growing team. The primary responsibility of this role is to engage with customers who are experiencing financial difficulties, understand their situations, and work collaboratively to establish sustainable payment solutions. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with a strong commitment to retaining customer accounts while adhering to company policies and regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Proactively contact customers with overdue accounts to understand the reasons for non-payment and explore potential solutions.
  • Conduct thorough financial assessments with customers to determine their ability to pay and identify appropriate repayment plans.
  • Negotiate and implement suitable payment arrangements, including deferrals, modifications, or customized plans, in line with company policies and individual customer circumstances.
  • Educate customers on their financial obligations, available options, and the consequences of continued default.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all customer interactions, payment arrangements, and account statuses within the company's CRM system.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve complex account issues and ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Monitor payment arrangements to ensure adherence and proactively address any potential breaches.
  • Identify and escalate high-risk accounts or cases requiring specialized attention to management.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry regulations, compliance requirements, and best practices in debt management and customer retention.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines in all interactions.

Qualifications :

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in debt collection, credit control, customer service, or a similar role, with a focus on retention.
  • Proven track record of successfully negotiating and establishing payment arrangements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong active listening and empathy skills to understand customer needs.
  • Exceptional negotiation and persuasion abilities.
  • Solid problem-solving and analytical skills with an ability to assess complex financial situations.
  • Proficient in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
