Seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to perform a variety of tasks pertaining to the preventative maintenance of units, buildings and grounds. This individual will have general knowledge of maintenance and repairs as well as knowledge of basic janitorial duties. This candidate must put high importance on integrity and trust and have a strong belief in ethics and values and that will always treat all individuals equally, respectfully and fairly.
Annual Salary : $30,000 - $50,000
Responsibilities :
- Complete all work order assignments
- Paint or repair roofs, windows, doors, floors, woodwork, plaster, drywall or other parts of the building structure
- Repair counter, drawers or other wood structures such as sheds or outbuildings
- Position, attach or blow insulation material
- Repair and maintain faucets, drains and sewer lines
- Replace or duplicate keys
- Lay brick to repair or maintain building, walls, arches or other structures
- Perform routine maintenance to mechanical equipment
- Complete unit turnaround process for vacant apartments as needed
- Be on-call for 24-hour emergency maintenance services on a rotational basis
- Monitor and maintain all building systems
- Report safety issues, damages or usual issues to management
- Maintain groundwork as required
- Complete unit inspections as required
- Assist with inventory and other warehouse duties as required
- Perform general cleaning of buildings and properties

General knowledge of construction and maintenance procedures specifically for residentialGeneral knowledge of codes and ordinances with building construction, methods and materialsAbility to drive a motor vehicleAbility to operate a computer and cell phoneKnowledge of the general operations and procedures of a Public Housing Agency (PHA)Ability to use and operate basis office equipment and machinesAbility to present ideas and communicate information effectively both orally and writtenMust be able to work in less-than-ideal conditions, e.g. noise, heat, cold, wind, dirt, etc.Must be capable of operating a variety of equipment, tools, machines and vehicles.Ability to stand for long periods of time and be able to bend, stoop, crouch, climb, twist, turn and kneel.Must be able to lift 50 poundsMust have a high school diploma or GEDAssociates degree with certification in one of the building trades (HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical) is preferredAbility to obtain EPA certification for the proper handling of Freon and other refrigerants within 12 monthsMust reside in Statesboro / Bulloch County or be willing to move within 12 months of hire dateMust have a valid driver's licenseMust be able to pass a pre-employment physical, drug / alcohol test, credit check, driver's license and background check#Jazz1
