A Special Assistant to the Director or Manager is an essential member of our team. The current vacancy is in the Land Development department.

THE ROLE

Performs a broad range of highly responsible, complex, and confidential administrative support and higher-level clerical coordination duties for the Department Director. Handles confidential and / or sensitive information requiring the use of significant discretion. Responsibilities involve a high degree of planning and coordinating activities and may include facilitating administrative processes by serving as a team leader on delegated administrative support matters. Supervise and assign work of the office support staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate's degree in business communication, communications or a field related to a function of municipal government. Bachelor's degree preferred;
  • Five (5) years of full-time progressively responsible administrative and analytical experience performing organizational and operational analysis work in a government or business capacity, including experience as a supervisor. Two (2) years of recent supervisory experience preferred.
  • Equivalency : May substitute a combination of equivalent education and experience.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Must possess a valid state driver's license and maintain a satisfactory motor vehicle record and ability to obtain an appropriate Nevada state driver's license within the required time frame.
