Director of Purchasing
Role Summary
Responsible for leading and managing purchasing operations across all departments, ensuring cost-effective procurement, supplier relationship management, and compliance with policies while supporting operational efficiency.
Core Responsibilities
Oversee all procurement activities, including RFQs / RFPs, contract negotiations, and vendor management.
Develop and implement purchasing policies, procedures, and systems for inventory and cost control.
Establish and maintain strategic supplier agreements to optimize pricing, delivery, and quality.
Provide regular reporting on purchasing performance, inventory, and cost variances.
Support menu costing, budgeting, and cost-reduction initiatives.
Build and maintain strong vendor and stakeholder relationships.
Stay current on product trends and attend industry events for sourcing opportunities.
Requirements
Experience : 5+ years in purchasing within hospitality (FB / Hotel) with large-scale or multi-unit operations preferred.
Skills : Strong negotiation, supplier relationship management, and budget control.
Knowledge : Purchasing, costing, and inventory management systems; proficient in MS Office.
Competencies : Results-driven, highly organized, excellent communication, integrity, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Education : College / University preferred; relevant certifications an asset.
