Job Title : Front Desk Coordinator - Surgery
Introduction
Under the direction of the Practice Manager, the Front Desk Coordinator is the first point of contact for patients. The Front Desk Coordinator performs and coordinates front office patient-centered duties, to include, but not limited to, greeting patients, co-pay collection, appointment scheduling, authorizations, and referrals.
Responsibilities
The Front Desk Coordinator serves as a resource for patients, physicians, staff, and ambulatory care managers. Other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- A minimum of three (3) years of previous related experience in a large complex healthcare setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of third-party payors including federal, state, and private health plans.
- Strong problem-solving ability by using good judgment and applying these skills to assist customers and ensure customers' expectations are met.
- Proven computer skills and be able to work between multiple systems during calls.
- Ability to work in an interactive environment and possess excellent customer service skills both in person and over the phone.
- Have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
- Possess the personal characteristics of professionalism, credibility, commitment to high standards, innovation, discriminating judgment, and accountability.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Applications i.e., Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
One (1) year in a surgery setting.EPIC.Special Conditions
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.Must be willing to work various hours and locations based on business needs. May be required to float to other sites to provide coverage as needed.
