Position Purpose

The Install Service Technician is responsible for delivering, installing, servicing, and repairing a wide variety of building materials and products at customer locations. This includes windows, doors, siding, insulation, cabinetry, or similar items sold by the company. The technician ensures installations meet company standards, manufacturer specifications, and customer expectations.

Duties and Responsibilities

Install and service building products according to company and manufacturer standards

Perform inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on previously installed materials

Interact with customers professionally on-site, ensuring satisfaction and addressing concerns

Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and technical drawings

Load, transport, and unload materials safely using appropriate tools and equipment

Maintain accurate records of work performed, including materials used and time spent

Perform routine maintenance and upkeep of installation tools, equipment, and vehicles

Ensure job site cleanliness and safety before, during, and after installation

Follow all OSHA, company, and safety policies and procedures

Knowledges, Skills and Abilities

Installation practices for building materials such as windows, doors, siding, or cabinetry

Construction methods, tools, and safety regulations

Blueprint and schematic reading

Basic mechanical, electrical, and carpentry principles

Using power tools and hand tools safely and effectively

Measuring, cutting, and fitting materials with precision

Diagnosing product or installation issues and providing solutions

Operating company vehicles and lift equipment

Communicating clearly with team members, supervisors, and customers

Work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team

Understand and follow verbal and written instructions

Manage time and tasks effectively to meet deadlines

Maintain a high level of professionalism in appearance and behavior

Adapt to changing work environments and job requirements

Safely lift, carry, and maneuver heavy materials and equipment

Must pass pre-employment drug test and random drug tests after hiring.

Education, Qualifications, Licensing Requirements

High school diploma. GED, or equivalent.

Valid drivers license with clean driving record (CDL is a plus)

Management Preference

13 years of experience in installation, construction, or a related trade preferred

Working Conditions

Work is performed indoors and outdoors, including in extreme temperatures or inclement weather. Frequent exposure to loud noises, dust, construction debris, and uneven surfaces. Travel to customer locations daily; occasional overnight travel may be required.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift and carry 50100 pounds frequently. Regularly required to stand, walk, climb ladders, kneel, crouch, and use hands / tools. Ability to work in confined spaces or at heights as needed. Visual acuity and manual dexterity required for precision work and safety compliance.
