Compensation : Average annual salary between $55,000 and $65,000, including :

  • Hourly wage of $19.50
  • Overtime pay for hours exceeding 40 per week
  • Typical work week of 45-55 hours
  • Annual $250 voucher for safety shoes
  • Weekly paychecks

    • Work Schedule :

  • Monday through Saturday, with Sundays and Wednesdays off
  • Start times usually at 7 : 00 AM; work until tasks are complete (10-12 hours per day)
  • No layovers; return home daily
  • Deliveries within a 150-mile radius with redeliveries and same-day deliveries
  • Flexibility required in scheduling based on business needs

    • Responsibilities :

  • Handle 400-900 cases daily; job is highly physical with touch freight
  • Some deliveries may involve stairs
  • Work in refrigerated environments and outdoor elements year-round
  • Secure loads with straps before and after each stop
  • Conduct route delivery, driver unload using a ramp and 2-wheel handcart
  • Deliver food-grade products to various locations including restaurants and schools
  • Drive a 15' box truck for transporting materials
  • Document vehicle inspections before and after trips
  • Ensure compliance with hours of service (HOS) and DOT regulations
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain vehicle condition
  • Report any vehicle maintenance or repair issues

    • Requirements :

  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Valid Driver's License from Illinois required
  • Experience with local, multiple-stop deliveries in Chicago preferred
  • Must obtain a DOT Medical Card and pass a pre-employment drug and background screening
  • Must be in good physical condition and capable of standing, bending, lifting, and pushing for extended periods
  • Ability to work in diverse environments and conditions including hot, cold, dust, indoors, and outdoors
  • Legally eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Must read, speak, write, and understand English
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 65 pounds unaided
