Job Summary :
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Secretary to join our legal team. In this role, you will provide critical administrative support to attorneys, assist in preparing legal documents, and help manage day-to-day operations within the office. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, excellent time management, and a solid understanding of legal terminology and procedures.
Key Responsibilities :
Prepare, format, and proofread legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, contracts, and subpoenas
Manage attorney calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate court dates and deadlines
File legal documents with courts and government agencies (electronically and in person)
Maintain and organize physical and digital legal files and records
Answer phones, take messages, and handle routine correspondence
Communicate with clients, court personnel, and other legal professionals
Assist with billing, timekeeping, and expense tracking
Perform general administrative tasks such as copying, faxing, mailing, and office supply management
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor's degree preferred)
2+ years of experience as a legal secretary or in a similar legal administrative role
Knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and legal documentation
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal management software
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
