Campus Police Officer

Reporting to the Police Sergeant, the Campus Police Officer protects students, faculty, staff, visitors, and university property and facilities and enforces the laws and regulations of the City of Rock Hill, State of South Carolina and Winthrop University on university, adjacent, and other appropriate properties.

Responsibilities include :

• Patrolling in WUPD vehicles or on foot to enforce City of Rock Hill and State of South Carolina laws and regulations and Winthrop University policies.
• Issuing citations for moving and parking violations.
• Investigating complaints and disturbances using the appropriate techniques and making arrests as necessary.
• Preparing various reports and forms, including incident, citation, accident and information reports, case files, tow sheets, and field interview cards.
• Performing building security inspections.
• Responding to requests for assistance.
• Monitoring parking areas and crosswalks and reporting maintenance needs.
• Controlling traffic during fire drills and emergencies.

Preferred qualifications :

Salary / hiring range : $50,000 for applicants not certified as South Carolina Law Enforcement Officer (LEO). Salary for certified S.C. LEOs based on years of certification.
