Heavy Equipment Operator

The role involves operating heavy equipment on construction sites, including bulldozers, excavators, motor graders, and front-end loaders. Operators must be comfortable working both inside and outside the cab to perform various duties related to site preparation and material handling.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy machinery such as dozers, excavators, and loaders to move earth, debris, and materials.
• Excavate and grade land according to project specifications using equipment.
• Prepare sites by clearing land, removing obstacles, and ensuring proper groundwork for construction.
• Handle materials by loading, transporting, and distributing dirt, gravel, and rock.
• Perform daily inspections, minor repairs, and routine maintenance to keep machinery in top condition.

Work Environment

Work an average of 40-50 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 7am-5pm, with flexibility required for some weekends. There are a total of 15 job sites, requiring adaptability to work at various locations within the Richmond Metro area, with the farthest site being 45 minutes from Chester, VA.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chester, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00 / hr.
