POSITION OVERVIEW

The Leader, Pharmacy Business & Technical Solutions is responsible for strategy, design and implementation of pharmacy-related services, operations, and systems to support the future growth of the company. This role combines clinical understanding with strategic leadership in business development and technology implementation. Core responsibilities include developing, improving, and overseeing key facets of our pharmacy mail order business, including pharmacy operations, business processes, technology solutions, product fulfillment, and inventory management. The leader in this role will drive scalable and compliant growth by bridging the gap between patient experience, pharmacy operations, regulatory requirements, and innovative technology solutions.

This leader will be business-focused with an entrepreneurial mindset and a passion for driving innovation and effective patient and business solutions. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of the mail order pharmacy landscape, a track record of implementing scalable and efficient processes, and a passion for leading cross-functional, high-performing teams. This role requires a strategic thinker with a hands-on, practical, and collaborative approach.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Growth & Operations

  • Design and lead initiatives to grow pharmacy operations across both telemedicine and B2B / B2B2C markets, ensuring alignment with business objectives, to optimize efficiency, grow revenue, reduce costs, and improve overall performance.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the entire mail order workflow, from prescription receipt to delivery.
  • Collaborate with sales and business development teams to design compliant pharmacy solutions and workflows for new initiatives that drive patient adherence and compliance.
  • Lead creation of analytics and reporting tools to monitor key performance indicators, conduct trend analysis, and provide actionable insights for continuous improvement and strategic planning.
  • Leverage data-based approach to ensure efficient and effective workforce management practices. Develop and optimize budget.

Clinical & Compliance Leadership

  • Maintain active pharmacist licensure and provide clinical oversight as required.
  • Ensure all telemedicine and B2B operations comply with federal, state, and accreditation requirements related to pharmacy operations, data security, and patient confidentiality, including HIPAA and Board of Pharmacy standards.
  • Serve as the primary business owner for all pharmacy technology systems and solutions and partner with internal and external technology teams to assess, optimize and refine pharmacy technology systems, including order management, e-prescribing, patient communications, and integration with telehealth platforms.
  • Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of technical solutions, from requirements gathering and system design to deployment, testing, and ongoing iteration, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive implementation of data-driven tools for performance tracking, regulatory reporting, and quality assurance.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Act as the bridge between leadership, pharmacy, technology, compliance, and operations colleagues to assess business needs and deliver cohesive and compliant patient and partner experiences.
  • Provide training, support, and documentation for pharmacy staff on new technologies, workflows, and best practices to maximize adoption and effectiveness.
  • Represent the pharmacy in partner meetings, audits, and regulatory reviews.
  • EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or PharmD degree from accredited college / university with active and unrestricted pharmacist license in NJ required. Multiple state licensures a plus.
  • 8+ years of experience in a pharmacy setting with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial position.
  • Significant experience in pharmacy operations, mail order, telehealth, or B2B models.
  • Deep understanding of U.S. pharmacy laws, licensing, and compliance rules.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing or improving pharmacy technology and operations.
  • Proficiency with pharmacy management systems.
  • Exceptional leadership and team-building skills.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.
  • Skilled in problem-solving, data analysis and reporting.
  • Proven ability to build positive, collaborative relationships with multiple levels and parties.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deliverables within an entrepreneurial work setting.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
