Legacy Talent Search is currently seeking candidates for a Control Room Operator Mechanic II role in Firebaugh, CA. This role is ideal for mechanically inclined candidates with experience in process systems, looking to grow in a high-paced, quality-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Perform mechanical maintenance and repairs on control room systems, including Hot Breaks, Evaporators, Flash Coolers, and Cold Hold Tanks.
  • Participate in alignment of pumps, motors, and other rotating equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Assist in system overhauls and preventative maintenance schedules using an Asset Maintenance Management System (AMMS).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions efficiently to minimize downtime and maintain production flow.
  • Support the installation, teardown, and inspection of process equipment in areas such as Bulk Unload, Juice Tanks, Finishers, and Cooling Towers.
  • Monitor system performance and assist operators in maintaining product within Manufacturing Standard Practices (MSP).
  • Develop and submit parts and material requisitions for maintenance tasks and repairs.
  • Help build and manage a spare parts inventory list for essential equipment.
  • Collaborate with Control Room Operators and Leads to maintain proper function, safety, and cleanliness of all systems.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation.
  • Adhere to company safety standards, wear appropriate PPE, and ensure a safe work environment.
  • Participate in SOP development and assist in training new team members on maintenance procedures.
  • Attend safety meetings and actively support a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably within food manufacturing or process control systems.
  • Proven ability to work with manual, electric, and pneumatic tools (e.g., wrenches, drills, grinders, welding tools).
  • Basic understanding of control systems and product flow across Hot Break, Evaporation, and Juice Tank systems.
  • Experience using AMMS or other computerized maintenance management systems.
  • Forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain.
  • Mechanically inclined with the ability to read blueprints, schematics, and SOPs.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently.
  • Skills and Abilities :

  • Comfortable performing calculations using whole numbers, percentages, weights, and volumes.
  • Able to read and write in English and interpret technical documentation, safety procedures, and maintenance instructions.
  • Excellent communication skills to coordinate with operators, QA, and supervisory staff.
  • Capable of solving problems involving several variables in a standardized setting.
  • Collaborative team player with a proactive attitude toward maintenance and safety.
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs occasionally.
  • Frequent standing, climbing, reaching, kneeling, and crouching.
  • Repetitive use of hands for tools, equipment adjustments, and control settings.
  • Must be able to work in hot, humid, and noisy environments.
  • Use of vision and hearing protection is required.
