Overview

Mechanical Engineer II, Power Electronics — Newark, CA

Lucid Motors is hiring a Mechanical Engineer with structural, thermal, and / or electrical design experience. You will help develop and commercialize state-of-the-art electric vehicle inverters, DC / DC converters and charging systems. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches work with vigor and determination.

Role

  • Create designs interactively with the vehicle packaging team and other product engineering inputs, updating designs accordingly
  • Optimize mechanical designs for size, weight, durability, performance and cost
  • Determine required tolerances using GD&T
  • Integrate mechanical designs with high voltage electrical systems in a multidisciplinary environment

Qualifications

  • A flair for creative design engineering and problem-solving
  • 2-4 years of experience with a Bachelor\'s or equivalent work experience
  • Strong 3D CAD skills, proficient with CATIA or similar software
  • Hands-on practical experience with shop tools and prototyping
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as injection molding, sheet metal stamping, die casting, etc
  • Preferred

  • Experience with electric propulsion systems
  • Experience with automotive engineering
  • Education

  • BS and / or MS in Mechanical Engineering

    Salary Range : The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.
