I. SUMMARY OF POSITION :
Str uc tural fitters are responsible for installing steel and other materials that make up a building's frame. They work closely with architects, contractors, and engineers to ensure that all the pieces fit together properly and nothing is missing when construction is complete.
II. RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Read Blueprints and understand structural engineering principles
- Understand section and plan drawings as well as weld symbols
- Must be able to read and derive measurements, dimensions, and quantity of material needed to fabricate a structure
- Fabricate, assemble, and install structural steel products such as beams, braces, pipes, and plates for offshore drilling jackets and decks
- Use Come-a-longs, chain falls, and other industry tools and equipment, and install, use, and remove stop plates, dogs, and pad eyes
- Strong communication skills to clearly explain any issues and / or concerns to team members.
III . MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
NCCER Certified or 5 years of work experienceMust be able to read and speak EnglishHigh School Education or equivalentPossess a valid driver's licenseProvide your own personal tool in a lockable toolboxIV. REPORTING REQUIREMENTS :

V. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Able to lift 40 poundsExpected to climb and work in high places that may exceed 200 feet in height and in confined spacesAvailable for short term travel
