Sheet Metal Helper - 3rd Shift

As a Sheet Metal Helper on the 3rd shift, you will assist in maneuvering sheet metal parts, handling weights up to 50 lbs. You will support brake operators and helpers in moving parts, staging them appropriately, and labeling them according to reference drawings. This role requires practicing and sustaining 5S methods, adhering to ISO procedures, and understanding LEAN principles to ensure quality and safety improvements.

Responsibilities :

  • Maneuver sheet metal parts and handle weights up to 50 lbs.
  • Assist break operators and helpers in moving and staging parts.
  • Label parts according to reference drawings.
  • Practice and sustain 5S methods.
  • Familiarize with ISO procedures to ensure quality.
  • Mentor and drive LEAN principles.
  • Contribute to safety goal achievements, including near miss reporting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills :

  • Strong initiative, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Good communication skills and professionalism.
  • Understanding of bill of material.
  • Working knowledge of computers, including SAP.
  • Simple math and basic measuring tool proficiency.
  • Ability to read blueprints and reference drawings.
  • Proficiency with critical measurement equipment, including micrometers and tape measures.

  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to change.
  • Maintain regular attendance and awareness of hazards.
  • Ability to understand and react to job schedules.
  • Work Environment :

    The work environment is a manufacturing facility where the noise level is usually loud, requiring hearing protection. Most work is indoors, but large bay doors may expose you to weather elements. Housekeeping is done per shift, but expect to get dirty. Steel or composite toe boots and proper PPE are required, with PPE such as ear plugs, safety glasses, gloves, and arm shields provided.

    Pay and Benefits :

    The pay range for this position is $19.66 - $19.66 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
