This position involves providing high-acuity nursing care to patients recovering from critical or post-surgical conditions, including those requiring cardiac and vascular monitoring. The ideal candidate will demonstrate clinical excellence, strong communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n
- Evaluate, plan, and deliver comprehensive nursing care for ICU Step-Down patients.\n
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, evidence-based care.\n
- Conduct patient assessments, determine priorities for care, and implement individualized plans.\n
- Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and post-surgical recovery progress.\n
- Perform therapeutic interventions in accordance with established protocols.\n
- Document all care activities in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.\n
- Promote patient safety, infection control, and adherence to care policies.\n
- Float to other critical care or step-down units within competency as required.\n
- Support ongoing quality improvement and professional development initiatives.\n
- Provide patient-centered care aligned with the organization's nursing practice model.\n\nQualifications\n\nExperience : \n
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in ICU or Step-Down / Progressive Care (required).\n
- Cardiac, vascular, and post-surgical step-down experience strongly preferred.\n\nEducation : \n
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) – required.\n
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – preferred.\n\nLicensure & Certifications : \n
- Active New Jersey RN License or Compact State License (required).\n
- BLS – AHA (required).\n
- ACLS – AHA (required).\n
- NIHSS Certification (required).\n
- 4-Hour CEU Contact in Stroke Education (required).\n\nSchedule\n
- Full-time, 3×12-hour night shifts (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM).\n
- May float to similar units based on facility needs.\n
