Coleman Talley LLP is seeking a driven Associate Attorney with 1–3 years of experience in commercial real estate to join our downtown Jacksonville office. The position primarily supports our Affordable and Multi-Family Housing Practice Group and offers the chance to work on meaningful projects that positively impact communities throughout the Southeastern United States.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Collaborate with team to close commercial real estate and multi-family housing transactions.
  • Draft routine contracts.
  • Assist closing team with property acquisition, due diligence (title, easements, survey, zoning), and closings.
  • Review title commitments and surveys, identify and resolve title issues, and coordinate with title companies and surveyors.
  • Prepare and respond to title objection letters and conduct final review of title and survey documents before closing.
  • Conduct due diligence including environmental reports and coordination with consultants.
  • Research compliance requirements with federal, state, and local agencies and assist with tax credit applications.
  • Maintain organized records of title, survey, and closing documents, and prepare internal checklists and signature packets.
  • Coordinate with lenders, investors, and public agencies throughout the deal lifecycle.
  • Collaborate effectively with team and maintain proactive communication with stakeholders.

Qualifications :

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in commercial real estate or housing transactions.
  • Licensed in Florida or Georgia.
  • Strong legal writing, analytical, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with affordable housing programs and financing a plus (LIHTC, tax-exempt bonds, HOME funds, USDA loans, FHA / HUD loans, and other financing tools).
