Unmatched Comp Time Policy : Hours worked over 40 in a week can be reimbursed as additional pay at an equivalent hourly rate or banked as additional PTO.

As a NEPA Specialist supporting our Idaho offices, you will work with a team to prepare National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and other environmental documentation for transportation and infrastructure projects.

What are the core responsibilities for the role?

  • Prepare NEPA documents (e.g., Categorical Exclusions, Environmental Assessments, Environmental Impact Statements)
  • Participate in field studies, collecting and organizing data
  • Analyze environmental data to quantify and document potential project impacts
  • Draft, review, and revise technical environmental resource reports
  • Coordinate with state and federal government agencies
  • Participate in public and stakeholder outreach
  • Work closely with clients in a document production role
  • Support senior environmental staff in project management tasks, including developing and managing scopes, budgets, schedules, and quality of service

Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies :

A prospective candidate should be detail-oriented, contribute to a positive team culture, and be able to produce accurate information under tight deadlines and budgets. Other requirements include :

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in environmental science, environmental policy, natural resources, or a related field
  • Strong  technical writing and communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Basic understanding of NEPA policy and procedures or 1-3+ years of experience preparing NEPA documents
  • Ability to interpret and apply federal and state environmental regulations (e.g., CWA, ESA, NHPA, etc.)
  • Experience in geospatial analysis and mapping (ArcGIS) (preferred)
  • Ability to work both individually and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Ability to prioritize and track tasks across multiple projects
  • Ability and willingness to perform field tasks in varying weather and terrain conditions
  • Ability to travel, as needed, and be flexible with changes in work schedule
  • Desire and ability to learn new skills
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite
