Overview
Our Nuclear Services Group is seeking a Senior Environmental Licensing Specialist to join the team. In this role, you will bring your expertise to aid in interactions with regulatory agencies and stakeholders, help gather data during site visits, and stay updated on environmental regulations. You will have the opportunity to perform and lead environmental analyses in support of nuclear environmental licensing projects nationwide. This position can be based in the following locations :
- Kennesaw, GA
- Oklahoma City, OK
- Naperville, IL
- Overland Park, KS
- Ft. Worth, TX
- This position may be based in additional office locations for the right candidate
Responsibilities
As an Environmental Licensing Specialist, you'll conduct comprehensive reviews to assess the impact of nuclear facilities on natural resources as well as prepare detailed reports, and support licensing applications. Your role will also involve developing protection measures, presenting complex information, and occasionally traveling for fieldwork.
E nvironmental Impact Assessment & Compliance : Conduct environmental reviews to assess the potential impact of proposed nuclear facilities on air, water, and land resources. Prepare environmental reports in accordance with NRC regulations, the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and other applicable regulatory guidelines. Support environmental licensing applications for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Stay current on relevant environmental regulations and best practicesData Collection & Site Evaluation : Participate in site visits to gather environmental data and assess potential environmental impacts. Support the development of technical content (text, figures, tables) for environmental reports and site feasibility assessmentsStakeholder Engagement & Communication : Interact with regulatory agencies, stakeholders, and the public to address environmental concerns. Prepare presentations and reports to communicate complex environmental information to technical and non-technical audiencesFieldwork & Environmental Protection : Assist in the development and implementation of environmental protection measures. Ability to travel / work in the field 10% of the time, with typical travel durations of 3-4 days (office work is typically 90% of the time for this position; fieldwork can include site visits and meetings with clients and applicable regulatory agencies)#LI-MB1
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Ecology, Biology, Geology, or a related fieldMinimum 6 years of experience in environmental consulting, nuclear power, or a related fieldWorking knowledge of environmental regulations (NEPA, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act,Experience working with federal or state regulatory agenciesExperience developing technical reports, environmental reports and supporting regulatory reviewsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsPay Range
