Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Operations Manager to join our team in Marengo, IL. The ideal candidate will bring direct floor operations experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and a proven track record of driving efficiency through waste reduction, cycle time improvement, and continuous improvement initiatives. This is a leadership role focused on optimizing production performance and supporting a culture of operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage daily floor operations to ensure efficient workflow, productivity, and quality standards.
- Monitor key production metrics and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Implement strategies for waste reduction cycle time reduction , and overall cost efficiency.
- Apply mechanical knowledge to support equipment troubleshooting and maintenance collaboration.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or other proven methodologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments including Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain to achieve production goals.
- Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, company policies, and regulatory compliance.
- Mentor and develop supervisors and frontline staff to support professional growth and team performance.
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting of key operational data and improvements.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Proven experience in floor-level operations management in a manufacturing or production setting.Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with industrial machinery and equipment.Demonstrated success in waste reduction and cycle time improvementHands-on experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, etc.Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Strong organizational and time management skills.Qualifications
Bachelor\'s degree in operations management, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).Experience in packaging, manufacturing , or other industrial sectors.Certifications in Lean, Six Sigma, or related process improvement disciplines are a plus.About DIA Packaging
