Electrical Engineer - Facilities

Overview : Merrick & Company is looking for an Electrical Facilities Engineer to join our team of diverse, dedicated, and talented employee owners! This position will be located in any of the following offices and will have the potential for a hybrid work schedule after initial training is complete : Albuquerque, NM; Greenwood Village, CO; Boise, ID; Atlanta, GA; Merritt Island, FL, or Huntsville, AL. This engineer will be responsible for all phases of engineering production and BIM for a variety of work ranging from programming through construction administration. This includes interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating the design and production effort for one or more large or complex projects.

Job Description Requirements

• Design of electrical systems for facilities for Sandia National Lab, Government, and private clients.
• Provide conceptual / detailed design for facility power distribution (
• Provide supporting documentation such as calculations, reports, and specifications.
• Meet with clients to prepare and / or validate proposed scope of work.
• Prepare fee proposals for engineering design work.
• Work with other engineering disciplines to ensure accuracy of the package, meet schedule, and budget commitments.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to work effectively independently and within a collaborative team environment.
• Ability to complete tasks with accuracy and with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to consistently meet deadlines, completing tasks as previously defined, and to multitask on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to travel as needed.
• Ability to write and edit specifications.
• Work in a design team environment, including directing and mentoring the work of junior engineers and designers, and delegating work as required.

An agreed upon hybrid schedule, working from both home and office, is available to employees in good standing.

Requires the ability to sit for extended periods at a computer workstation. Be able to work in an environment with open discussions and visitors without getting distracted.
