RTW Design Assistant (Part-Time) (New York)

Adecco Creative is partnering with an iconic NYC fashion brand to recruit for a

part-time, contract

Design Assistant role. This role will be ongoing contract and 2 days per week.

Primary Purpose :

The Design Assistant you will work with the RTW design team to help facilitate the creation and execution of custom design pieces from concept to completion. You will be a part of a dynamic, creative environment where you will collaborate with talented designers and cross-functional partners in the business.

Work closely with Senior Design Director to execute seasonal design concepts from conception to finished look.

Assist with image research, illustration, spec drawings and development packages.

Organize presentation boards and assist in the preparation of meetings with Sr Design Director Boards include project / talent concept, color palettes, inspiration, materials, techniques.

Responsible for timeline adherence; ensure all Design Cards are completed thoroughly and updated through fittings in a timely manner; ensure all prototypes are available and presentable for fittings or meetings.

Assist in acquiring Coach samples from the Archive, Sample Library, PR and Global Merchandising Teams and ensure return of samples for VIP / Styling assignments or design references.

A deep understanding of Coach aesthetic

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities at once

Must be agile and able to balance shifting needs and deliverables in a fast-paced environment

Strong written and verbal communication skills

A collaborative, team player with self-starting initiative

A strong work ethic and a hands-on approach to the RTW design process

Bachelors degree in Fashion Design

Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop is a must

Understanding of garment construction, basic pattern cutting, embellishment techniques, materials, and sewing
