Lead Engineer – Rotating Equipment
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Engineer to join our team. This role is an integral part of the engineering, sales, and operations groups and will be responsible for providing engineering support across centrifugal pumps, steam turbines, and related rotating equipment for manufacturing, repair, and field service activities.
Key Responsibilities :
- Contribute to the design of new pumps, components, and assemblies using ANSYS, FEA, and CAD / CAM tools.
- Create accurate 3D models and technical drawings with Autodesk Inventor.
- Utilize 3D scanning technology to reverse engineer components and generate models / drawings.
- Support the operations team by ensuring efficient manufacturing and repair practices.
- Partner with sales teams and customers to review specifications, recommend components, and create requisitions.
- Participate in and analyze pump / turbine tear-down and inspection (TDI) processes, recommending repair methods and scopes of work.
- Assist with estimating costs for manufacturing and repair projects.
- Lead and support field service crews during installation, repair, and commissioning of pumps / turbines.
- Provide hands-on support for factory testing, troubleshooting, and validation of equipment.
- Take part in special projects as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience :
5+ years of experience in the design and application of centrifugal pumps and rotating equipment.Familiarity with marine, offshore, and industrial markets and their technical requirements.Strong knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems and basic understanding of electrical power, motors, and controls .Proven expertise in pump / turbine design, assembly, repair, and troubleshooting .Experience with GD&T, machining practices, and manufacturing operations .Proficiency in AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) .Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications .Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.Willingness to work in both office and shop / plant environments , including lifting up to 50 lbs and navigating shop floors.Education :
B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical or related) required; advanced experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
