Fintech Accountant
Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Fintech Accountant to join our reconciliation team. This role is responsible for completing DDA account reconciliations, investigating the root causes of outstanding items, and designing effective reconciliation processes for new card and electronic payment programs.
Qualifications
Education :
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience :
35 years of accounting experience within a financial institution.Familiarity with electronic and card payment processes is preferred.Experience with data analysis and reporting tools, including SQL and Tableau, is a strong plus.Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.Key Responsibilities
Reconciliation & Analysis :
Perform daily reconciliations of cardholder DDA accounts.Monitor program funding and adjustment accounts to ensure adequate funding and appropriate source validation.Investigate and resolve transaction discrepancies causing outstanding reconciliation items.Reconcile suspense and respondent GL accounts related to partner programs.Support the onboarding of new programs by developing scalable reconciliation approaches.Serve as a backup to other team members to ensure coverage and continuity.Skills & Competencies
Strong verbal and written communication skills.Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work cross-functionally.Solid understanding of banking operations, especially within fintech or card payment environments.Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including working with macros and complex formulas.Ability to manipulate and interpret large data sets for meaningful reporting.Comfortable working with SQL and Tableau for reporting and automation.Eagerness to learn new technologies and systems.
