Summary
The Ultrasound Technician is responsible for conducting neurovascular and other sonographic exams on patients under the direct orders of a physician. The Technician is accountable at all times for patient safety.

Responsible for knowing Ultrasound Technician scope of practice and working within it, accountable at all times to an attending physicianPrepares exam rooms and patients for ultrasound examinations; maintains ultrasound equipment and machinery; notifies supervisor immediately of equipment defectsPrepares for the exam by performing an adequate time-out period, verifying that the procedure to be performed will be performed on the correct patient for the correct studyPreferred Education and Experience
Vascular Ultrasound technician education or other related education either in progress or completedTCD experience preferredRVT preferredHealthcare experience requiredSpecial Conditions of Employment
