Position : TAB Technician
Starting Pay : 25.00 / hour – Full Time – 40 hr / wk
(7 : 00 am – 4 : 00 pm Monday – Friday) Must be available.
Job Summary :
Role : The TAB Technicians role is to take air and hydronic field measurements of HVAC equipment on a construction site and enter the test data into a TAB Report. The TAB Tech will make adjustments to the systems to meet the design intent of the engineer and document / resolve any deficiencies found during the TAB process.
Working hours are typically 7 : 00 am – 4 : 00 pm. Occasional Saturday work will be required. 2
nd
shift working hours are rare but are sometimes required,
Most of the projects for this position will be in the Nashville area. Occasional trips to North Alabama will be required.
Job Responsibilities (training provided) :
- Test HVAC equipment following NEBB procedures and standards.
- Properly use and maintain specialized TAB instruments.
- Read mechanical drawings to locate equipment / devices to be tested.
- Enter required field data into the TAB report using computer / tablets.
- Operation of various computer-based building automation systems.
- Troubleshoot and document issues found during the TAB process.
- Maintain good relationships with customers.
Access requirements :
Clean record & clean driving record.Must be able to pass a background check for badging at government facilities.Random drug testing will be required.Candidate must be at least 21 years of age.Must be a US Citizen.Physical Requirements :
Must be able to lift, move, and carry equipment (up to 50 pounds).Must be able to climb ladders.Must be able to drive a lift (training provided).Must be able to walk around large construction sites.Educational / Experience requirements :
At a minimum a high school diploma is required but an associate’s degree is preferred.Ability to do basic math is a necessity. Calculating percentages will be used on daily basis as well as using some math formulas necessary to calculate air and water flow rates.TAB Technicians are responsible for writing up TAB issues logs and making notes in the TAB report. The ability to describe in writing what is observed in the field will be required.Qualities & Skills

Must pass the NEBB TAB Tech exam within 2 years of start date (training provided)
Pay will be increased to 30.00 / hour, and a 5,000.00 bonus will be awarded upon successful completion of NEBB TAB Tech exam (with benefits included the full package is 38 / hr).
