Payroll Manager in the Wausau Area

We are seeking a dedicated Payroll Manager to oversee end-to-end payroll operations for a multi-entity organization. This role involves ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, maintaining regulatory compliance, and developing payroll policies and systems. The manager will lead a team of payroll professionals and collaborate with internal departments to support organizational goals.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage payroll operations across multiple business units, ensuring accuracy and adherence to policies.
• Develop and maintain payroll policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Oversee system updates, testing, and implementation of new payroll technologies.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll, tax filings, and year-end reporting, including 941s, 1099s, and UC filings.
• Coordinate and participate in audits, including workers' compensation and financial audits.
• Prepare financial reconciliations and analytical reports related to payroll activities.
• Maintain confidentiality and data integrity in all payroll processes.
• Provide leadership and performance evaluations for payroll team members.
• Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to align payroll functions with organizational objectives.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance payroll efficiency and service delivery.

Work Environment

This position is based at our Wausau Corporate office, operating 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday, during typical office hours.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wausau, Wisconsin.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $39.62 - $50.00 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
