Job Summary :

Performs cleaning and trash removal functions, as well as carpet and hard surface maintenance, throughout the hospital on a routine and project basis. Maintains equipment in clean, working condition, demonstrating knowledge of the proper use of chemicals and supplies. Responsible for moving furniture and equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbers / shampooers, and housekeeping carts. Will be exposed to various chemicals. Demonstrates effective communication and interaction skills with patients, families, and visitors of all age groups, being sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs.

Performance Expectations :

• Able to perform cleaning functions.

• Able to move furniture and equipment.
• Possesses the ability to communicate and interact effectively with patients, families, and visitors of all age groups.

Qualifications :

Education / Skills : High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Work Experience : One year of previous work experience preferred, especially in housekeeping or healthcare fields.

Mental Demands : Ability to perform repetitive tasks, accept disruptions in workflow, follow verbal and written instructions precisely, demonstrate cooperativeness, good judgment, initiative, and the ability to relate well to others. Able to work independently without close supervision and possess good verbal and written communication skills.
