Summ ary : The Registered Nurse (RN) assists in the de l ivery of primary hea l th care services and client care management in a fast-paced office setting. Under the supervision of the medical provider, participates in providing health promotion, health maintenance and illness management. This is for a Triage Nurse in the Medical Department.

- Conducts initial assessments to evaluate how urgently a patient needs care
- Respond to incoming phone calls and critically think on appropriate next steps
- Respond to patients as they arrive to clinic and help with their medical needs
- Assist the clinic with emergent needs and help coordinate between local hospitals
- Ask appropriate questions, check vital signs, and coordinate care with other medical professionals
- Assists with preparation of patients for provider office visit, greet and escort patient to the exam room
- Obtain patient's vitals, update the patient's medica l history, medications and allergies
- Document a ll screening informat i on electronically i n chart in an accurate, thorough an d timely man n er
- Prepa r e and administer injections as ordered per p rovider and sta n ding orders
- Perform office lab procedures accurate l y and time l y
- Records and completes lab orders for in - house and contact lab in a timely manner
- Clean and sterilize a l l equipment utilized and exam room items according to OSHA and b l ood born pathogen protocols
- Distribute ed u cational materials and resources to the patient as directed by the prov i der
- Assists the provider by rev i ewing patient c h arts and identifying any gaps in care and outstanding orders according to best practice guidelines
- Assist the provider with order i ng necessary imaging referral coordination
- Assists patient with scheduling for follow-up appointments
- Communicate test results to patient as directed by the provider
- Maintain a safe, clean, efficient a n d welcoming environment for pat i ents and staff
- Successful comp l etion of initial and annual competency assessme n ts
- Complete ot h er duties as assigned
