job_description.job_card.job_descriptionSupport the Head DI Underwriter by demonstrating accountability and agility in underwriting processes Ensure compliance with all legal obligations in the underwriting area and review contestable claims Analyze trends in underwriting practices and make recommendations for improvements Participate in new product development and communicate changes to the department Consult with stakeholders to identify solutions and support team success A high school diploma or GED 8+ years of relevant work experience in Disability Insurance Underwriting Established approval limit without second signature : $20,000 per month of DI, $50,000 Business Overhead, and $3,000,000 of Buy-Sell 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau) Bachelor's Degree Completion of industry exams such as ALU 101, 201, 202, LOMA, ALMI, FMLI, ALU, FALU, DIA, DIF, RHU Mastery knowledge of individual DI insurance practices and operations Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to think strategically Proven track record of meeting or exceeding performance expectations
