American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Telemetry Float position requiring a current CA RN license, with recent med-surg and telemetry experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a hospital-based Med / Surg and Telemetry Float unitWill float between medical-surgical and telemetry units as neededPatient population includes adolescents through geriatricsAverage unit census is 36 with a 1 : 5 nurse-to-patient ratioNight shift position, working three 12-hour shifts per week from 19 : 00 to 07 : 30Every other weekend coverage is requiredNo on-call responsibilitiesRoyal blue scrubs are requiredDuties include cardiac monitoring, medication administration, ventilator and chest tube care, and tracheostomy managementMust provide care for patients requiring a range of respiratory support devices, including external CPAP / BIPAP and high-flow nasal cannulaFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyReturn staff are considered on a case-by-case basisRequested time off must be submitted with application and cannot be changed later, and no time off is allowed during the first two weeks of the assignmentLocal candidates are accepted at the same rate\n \n Requirements\n
Active CA RN license required at time of considerationMinimum 3 years of nursing experience with at least 2 years in telemetryRequired certifications : BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke ScaleMust be able to read and interpret cardiac monitoring stripsCompetency in med-surg and telemetry patient careExperience caring for post-cardiac angiogram, MI, cardiac cath, cardiac surgery, and ventilated patientsProficiency in central line and PICC line care, IV starts, and blood product administrationAbility to manage heparin protocols and vasoactive drips (no titration)References with level 4-5 ratings requiredPre-employment training modules must be completed prior to start\n Benefits\n
