Job Details

Requirements -

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (required).

Professional Engineer (PE) license (required).

Minimum 5 years of experience in MDOT transportation infrastructure engineering.

Strong background in bridge and large culvert design, including hydraulics, deck drainage, staging, constructability, and safety.

Skilled in scope, schedule, and fee management.

Ability to lead teams, mentor others, and review engineering deliverables (plans, calculations, specifications).

Excellent communication and client relationship-building skills.

Proactive and solutions-focused with strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities -

Project Management (Primary Focus) -

Manage the delivery of MDOT and local agency bridge projects from planning through completion.

Oversee schedules, budgets, and quality reviews to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

Coordinate project staffing and conduct progress meetings.

Prepare project progress reports and earned value reports.

Business Development -

Maintain and grow client relationships while identifying new opportunities.

Prepare proposals, estimates, and contracts.

Collaborate with leadership on assembling pursuit teams for new work.

Leadership & Team Development -

Lead project team meetings and mentor engineering staff.

Participate in industry organizations and training opportunities.

Foster a positive, collaborative team environment.
