Overview
Cross Country Coach 6th / 7th Grade, 2025 / 2026 at Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District.
Responsibilities
Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
Has previous successful coaching experience in the assigned sport (major sports).
The head coach must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport.
Must continue to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to the field.
Serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes through instructions and actions.
Report to the Principal, who provides overall objectives and final evaluation in conjunction with the high school principals.
Supervise a staff of high school assistant coaches and middle school coaches in conjunction with the athletic director and respective principal.
Instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for individual and team success; promote social development, self-discipline, self-confidence, and pride of accomplishment.
Upgrade knowledge and skills through coaching clinics, observations, and consultation.
Maintain discipline, address grievances, and work to increase morale and cooperation.
Perform other duties assigned by the athletic director or principal.
Assist in scheduling, transportation, and requirements for tournaments and special sport events; coordinate program with maintenance and school employees.
Provide documentation for state and system requirements concerning physical examinations, parental consent and eligibility.
Safeguard equipment sites and ensure proper maintenance of equipment, facilities, and inventory.
Advise the athletic director and recommend policy, method or procedural changes.
Serve as a mentor to student athletes to develop character traits (trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, citizenship).
Monitor student athletes' grades and conduct; provide guidance and support during travel and practices.
Establish and enforce training rules and regulations for participants.

Administrative Details
