Market Insights Manager
Working as an intelligence expert as part of an integrated cross-functional team, the Market Insights Manager is primarily responsible for leading research and insights on competitor, market and industry trends to inform strategic direction and business decisions. The successful candidate connects dots and synthesizes learning to deliver clear and persuasive narratives and influence decision-making across the organization. They provide insights that are accurate, congruent and reliable and present findings to all levels of leadership. Market Insights Managers must have an in-depth understanding of the business environment and an interest in going beyond the obvious, delving into the source, finding insights, and turning those insights into a clear and compelling story to drive impact and better decision making.
Essential Functions
- Develops insights to address key business objectives by synthesizing relevant intelligence and data sources (competitive, market and customer) that tell a clear and holistic story and actionable recommendations.
- Provides consultative thought partnership and facilitates discussions with senior leaders to drive efforts forward and help leaders make better data-driven decisions using a variety of communication methods.
- Establishes and maintains effective relationships with leadership and cross-functional stakeholders by understanding business needs and providing relevant and timely insights through multiple forums.
- Leads multifaceted projects by bringing structure to ill-defined problems, performing highly complex assessments using a variety of tools and techniques and utilizing project management and facilitation.
- Monitors and stays current with industry trends, the competitive landscape and market dynamics to proactively identify emerging trends.
- Seeks opportunities and develops solutions to fill in knowledge gaps relating to the market and competitive environment.
- Generates new and unique ideas; easily makes connections among previously unrelated notions; tends to be seen as original and value-added in brainstorming settings.
- Contributes to the continuous improvement of market insights processes, tools and methodologies to build rigor and efficiency.
Qualifications
Required Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in business, marketing, statistics, mathematics or related fieldPreferred Master's Degree in business (MBA or relevant graduate degree)7 years of relevant experience in strategic insights, market research, business analytics, strategic forecasting or related discipline.
