Job Description

The Insurance Verification Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring patients have accurate and up-to-date insurance coverage prior to receiving services. This position is responsible for contacting patients to confirm insurance details, verifying benefits, and enrolling eligible patients in copay assistance programs.

Essential Functions

• Call patients to confirm insurance coverage prior to scheduled appointments or procedures.
• Collect and update insurance information in the patient management system.
• Verify patient benefits including coverage limits, copays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket responsibilities.
• Contact insurance carriers directly or use online portals to obtain benefit details.
• Identify patients eligible for copay assistance programs.
• Guide patients through the enrollment process and ensure all required documentation is submitted.
• Maintain accurate records of copay assistance approvals and renewals.
• Document all verification and enrollment activities in Nextech.
• Communicate benefit details and financial responsibilities to patients clearly and compassionately.
• Collaborate with billing, front desk, and clinical teams to ensure seamless patient experience.
• Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
• Travels as needed.
