Description : Agile5 Technologies is seeking a skilled Mid-Level Technical Writer to research, write, and edit technical documentation that supports a forensic and investigative ecosystem. You'll work closely with various teams to understand project requirements and develop clear, concise content, from procedure manuals and technical specifications to user guides and training materials. The ideal candidate will be a meticulous professional with a strong understanding of technical writing standards and a talent for translating complex information into easy-to-understand documentation.

Mid-Level Technical Writer Job Duties :

Research, outline, write, and edit new and existing technical documentation.

Work with development teams and subject matter experts to understand project requirements and gather information.

Develop procedure manuals, technical specifications, process documentation, user guides, training materials, and technical reports.

Identify documentation repositories and solutions for centralized storage.

Create and maintain information architecture templates that uphold organizational and legal standards.

Develop content in alternative media forms for maximum usability.

Maintain a consistent and cohesive voice across all documentation and ensure documents follow the organization's style guide.

Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and operational control procedures (OCPs).

Support Program Increment (PI) planning and documentation needs.

Prepare professional documentation suitable for executive-level managers.

Security Clearance Requirements : Active Top Secret (TS) clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) required. Candidates must already possess this clearance level upon applying and be able to pass a polygraph examination.

Experience Requirements : Requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in technical writing. Candidates must have experience with Agile methodologies, an understanding of software development processes, and strong writing, editing, and organizational skills.

Education Requirements : Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Writing, Communications, or a related field.

Desired Skills / Qualifications : Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, documentation tools, technical writing standards, and information architecture principles is essential. Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and SharePoint, GitLab Wiki, Agile documentation practices, and Section 508 compliance is highly desirable.

Location : On-site in Chantilly, VA

Status : Full time

Schedule : Day shift, Monday–Friday

Physical Requirements : Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long durations of time. Also, must be able to continuously operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.
