American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Labor & Delivery assignment requiring NM or compact state licensure, advanced certifications, and experience in a large L&D unit.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a high-acuity Labor & Delivery unit within a Level I Trauma and Teaching HospitalPatient ratios are 1 : 2 in the L&D unitAssignment involves floating to antepartum and postpartum units as neededOn-call required : 12 hours per 4 weeks for 4x12s or 24 hours per 4 weeks for 3x12sNight shift position with typical hours of 19 : 00-07 : 30Variety of specialized L&D procedures including cerclage, version, C-section, PPTL, external and internal monitoring, AROM, medically assisted deliveries, C-hyst, neonatal palliative care, nitrous use, massive transfusion protocol, and malignant hyperthermia managementUses Cerner EMR systemScrub color is purple and scrubs are providedNo local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radiusExpected to perform and assist in a wide range of deliveries and obstetric proceduresTeam may include RNs, OB physicians, nurse midwives, and ancillary staffFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyPersonal transportation requiredBlock scheduling not guaranteedHoliday time-off limited to one holiday bundle; additional requests subject to approvalNo RQI certifications acceptedDrug screening required within 30 days of assignment startModules completed during orientation and annually, recorded via Unit EducatorsTravelers can be rehired if 12 months or more since last permanent employment at the facility\n \n Requirements\n
Active NM or compact RN license; may be pending at submissionMinimum 1 year of experience in a large Labor & Delivery unit requiredCertifications required : Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)Proficient in circulating, fetal heart monitoring (FHM), postpartum (3s / 4s), serving as baby nurse, and managing meconium deliveriesMust be able to provide two professional references from supervisors within the past 2 yearsCOVID vaccination required; medical and religious exemptions accepted with proper documentationMust upload a non-local driver’s license or provide a written transportation plan\n Benefits\n
