Description Summary : Coordinate and perform diagnostic
medical imaging procedures for the Department of Ultrasound,
assisting the Radiologist utilizing a variety of diagnostic
ultrasound equipment, both fixed or mobile. Responsibilities :
Perform a variety of high-quality ultrasound procedures including
all vascular studies under minimal supervision utilizing diagnostic
ultrasound imaging equipment. Documents calibration procedures for
individual imaging equipment. Coordinates, organizes, plans and
makes quick decisions on emergent cases; evaluates and acts to
maintain efficiency and maximize productivity. Assists the
Radiologist in performing invasive biopsy procedures using the
Ultrasound system to pinpoint exact anatomical location(s) of a
specified diseased area for specimen evaluation and diagnosis.
Perform all vascular ultrasound exams requested. Ensures that all
procedures are accurately charged and that all charges are turned
in at the end of the day for correct billing. Ensures that the
Ultrasound room is adequately supplied, check equipment and
computer status for readiness, reports any problems that could
change the workflow and make sure corrective actions are taken to
ensure of workflow continuity. Demonstrates competence to perform
assigned patient care responsibilities in a way that meets the
age-specific and developmental needs of persons served by the
department. Appropriately adapts assigned patient assessment to
accommodate the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural,
age-specific and other developmental needs of each person served.

Education / Skills Graduate of AMA approved School of Radiological
Sciences, Ultrasound Technology, or other accepted and approved
equivalent. Experience One (1) year of experience in a clinical
ultrasound setting is preferred. Prefer one (1) year of experience
performing the following exams : Carotid Arteries Upper Extremity
veins Lower Extremity veins Upper Extremity arteries Lower
Extremity arteries Abdominal Aorta Aortic Hepatic and Porta flow
systems PW or CW insonation of cerebral arteries transcranially,
and peripheral arteries. Knowledge of plethysmography for arterial
and venous circulation evaluation. Licenses, Registrations, or
Certifications Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) or Registered
Vascular Technologist (RVT) is required. Registration by the
credentialing bodies for Ultrasound Technologists is Required
American Registry of Diagnostic Sonographers (ARDMS),
Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), or American
Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ultrasound) is Required BLS is
required Work Schedule : 7AM - 7PM Work Type : Per Diem As
Needed
