Part-Time Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) – Monday & Tuesday Shifts Available

Our Level 1 acute care psychiatric hospital in Tempe specializes in treating adults and adolescents facing a broad spectrum of psychiatric disorders, behavioral challenges, and chemical dependency. We are committed to promoting wellness through prevention, intervention, and evidence-based treatment.

Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Part-Time Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to support inpatient psychiatric care. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about mental health, crisis intervention, and patient-centered care.

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), the BHT will :

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs)
  • Participate in shift rounds and treatment planning
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment
  • Conduct group activities aligned with clinical goals
  • Support de-escalation techniques and behavioral interventions
  • Document observations and contribute to patient care plans

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED (required)
  • 21 years of age or older
  • CPR, First Aid, and TO certification (or completion within 30 days of hire)
  • Prior experience in psychiatric inpatient care, behavioral health, or mental health services preferred
  • Part-time Shifts

  • The shift includes Monday and Tuesday weekly
  • AM / PM shifts available

  • Self-motivated, organized, and team-oriented
  • Empathetic communicator with a commitment to dignity and respect
  • Familiarity with HIPAA, patient safety protocols, and trauma-informed care
