Purpose of Position : To complete detailed inspections of gas turbine engine and propeller components and assemblies in accordance with the approved technical data and SAC policies / procedures. This position is considered safety-sensitive in accordance with DOT and FAA regulations and as such, subject to drug and alcohol testing per FAA's regulations.

Essential Functions : (must be able to perform these functions with or without a reasonable accommodation)

• Completes daily inspection assignments as directed by the Supervisor
• Examines material or product for surface defects such as cracks, pits, and incomplete welds
• Uses precision measuring instruments to complete inspections in accordance with approved technical data
• Compares product with parts list or sample model to ensure completion of assembly
• Rejects defective parts, and marks type of defect on part, container of parts, or inspection tag
• Utilizes the electronic database to complete transactions
• Completes paperwork required for quality system
• Assists with job training of other inspection personnel in the completion of inspection responsibilities
• Keeps a clean work environment using continuous improvement tools
• Maintains an understanding of the methodology employed by bureaucratic and government organizations, and skills, to deal with the requirements and systems imposed by these organizations
• Maintains accurate and timely records of inspections
• Ability to demonstrate inspection proficiency on equipment, inspection methods & techniques, aids, and tools
• Confers with Supervisor to recommend changes such as : equipment utilization, production methods, and procedures to increase efficiency of department and promote improvement
• Attends all safety and health training, as required, in a timely manner
• Works when scheduled and complies with company attendance policy
• Observes and practices all safety procedures and personal policies (e.g. safety-glasses, ear plugs, face shields etc.)
• Works overtime as needed
• Other duties as required
