Mental Health Therapist - West Des Moines

Rationale : The Outpatient Clinical Trainee is a mental health clinician who is knowledgeable of and competent in treatment of a variety of emotional disorders. They work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary clinicians in the outpatient and home-based services as well as support staff of Nystrom & Associates, Ltd., in a collegial fashion.

Job Duties :

1. Designs and implements treatment / intervention reflective of identified patient needs, stated in terms of expected outcome, including strategy to achieve stated outcomes.

2. Completes and bills documentation for sessions within 24 hours.

3. Maintains EEHR records in accordance with policy requirements.

4. Builds and maintains full-time case load for self.

5. Attends and participates in required amount of clinical staff meetings including case and peer reviews per MN 545i and DHS Standards.

6. Attends Board Approved Supervision and DHS Standards as assigned by Quality Assurance.

7. Responsible for timely completion of patient prior authorizations and other necessary insurance processing information.

8. Follows policies and procedures of Nystrom & Associates, Ltd.

9. Responds to patient complaints in coordination with Clinic Director.

10. Consults with Outpatient Clinic Director and Board Approved Supervisor on complex cases.

11. Will make referrals to NAL OMHP's, MD's, Home Based program, ARMHS Program, Chemical Dependency Program and developing NAL programs for mental health services whenever possible.

12. Supports and participates in the marketing of the clinic.

13. Responsible for timely completion of Managed Care applications and ongoing documentation as needed.

Qualifications :

1. Outpatient Clinical Trainee must be on a licensure track for a Mental Health Professional in Minnesota

2. Must meet the definition of a Clinical Trainee as defined by MN State Statute 245I.04 Subd 6. Which includes :

a. Outpatient Therapy Clinical Trainee has completed an accredited graduate program of study to prepare the staff person for independent licensure as a mental health professional and, is following the requirements of the applicable health-related licensing board (LMFT, LP, LICSW, LMFT), including requirements for supervised practice.

3. Ability to work in a positive and cooperative fashion.
