Production Support Engineer I

Job Description :

The State Based Systems (SBS) team of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) has an exciting opportunity for a Production Support Engineer I to join our team. The Production Support Engineer provides technical support for state project requests. They will work with SBS team members and our partners at the National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR). This team member will ensure applications are running efficiently and resolve issues quickly.

This is a full time position, working a hybrid schedule based out of our Kansas City, Missouri office.

Responsibilities :

• Produce implementation efforts for new application releases, through planning, prioritization, and elaboration of enhancements for applications, and participate in investigation, logging, and prioritization of production defects.
• Support new state implementations by being a primary member of the team working on Producer Licensing setup, configurations, testing , training , and collaboration with NIPR to successfully implement the new state on SBS .
• Complete state and jurisdiction requsts that are required due to legislative changes , additions of services, or enhancements shared by NIPR and SBS.
• Analyze inquiries to identify potential trends, relay this information to the appropriate programming teams and management staff, and propose support solutions to resolve recurring issues.
• Provide input and assistance for training and customer support events, by developing and delivering training and guiding team efforts to identify training needs.
• Produce and maintain detailed and accurate documentation on supported applications, coordinate the distribution of the documents to users, and set standards for user documentation in conjunction with the manager.
• Resolve issues using clearly established processes, and collaborate with NIPR and other team members as necessary to resolve more complex issues.

Minimum Education and Experience Required :

Associate's degree in computer science and 4-7 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience using Oracle SQL, SQL Plus, Agile

Preferred Experience :

TOAD

Safe Agile Certification

Compensation :

Starting at $91,436 - $100,000. To be commensurate with experience and education.

Travel Requirements :

This position requires regular, out-of-state, overnight travel in support of member meetings and events throughout the year. An ideal candidate must be able and willing to travel to locations throughout the United States and with such frequency as necessary to meet the needs of this position and the Association.
