Purpose Of The Job
The Complex Leader is accountable for providing support for our 24 / 7 manufacturing operation and associated processes. This person must have a strong sense of personal commitment towards the business and our customers; an ability to foster teamwork throughout the organization; communicate effectively with all levels ranging from primary workforce to plant leadership. The Complex Leader must build a culture of trust, respect, and accountability in a Union environment. In addition, the individual in this position helps to implement organizational strategies, standards and practices enrolling employees to achieve the Plant's business strategy and deliver results.

Span Of Control : 25 primary employees, 4 salaried employees
Job Responsibilities
Driving A Strong Safety Culture
- Ensuring a safe, clean, and environmentally compliant work environment and building a culture where safety is a priority
- Leading and supporting safety initiatives, proactive conversations around safety, and processes to drive towards zero recordable injuries
- Training and developing employees to safely perform their jobs
- Effectively communicating Owens Corning's stand on safety throughout the department to ensure employees believe in and behave in a manner that supports our stand that all accidents are preventable, safety is everyone's responsibility, and that working safely is a condition of employment at Owens Corning
Executing Total Production Maintenance (TPM) Strategy And Managing Operations
Lead operations and processes for respective assets / area of responsibility within the plantProvide direct supervision to employees in area of responsibility. Coach and provide clear direction to effectively manage operations.Partner with Manufacturing Engineers (Line, Binder, & Furnace) to identify and drive continuous improvement efforts through standardized work to improve cost, grow year-over-year productivity and reduce quality related issues for our customersEnsure effective deployment of employee / labor relations practices (building strong partnership)Ensure the process and quality systems are utilized to provide a consistent product that meets manufacturing specificationsOperate with zero environmental non-conformities to applicable company, government, and regulatory policiesProactively analyzes and manages all relative operations performance metrics making improvements to efficiencies, quality, and costSet clear and measurable performance expectations, in line with plant goals; communicating and ensuring results are achieved for self and direct reportsUtilizing data driven decision-making processesFacilitating process improvements through people deployment, productivity enhancements, high performance work teams and being a model for changeLeading a lean culture environment through six sigma processes and TPM toolsetsDriving progress in area of responsibility through engagement of operators in TPM activities, impacting overall TPM expansion area progress to meet plant goalsLiving the values and vision of the Company; establish an engaged workforce characterized by mutual trust, open communications, teamwork, and recognitionMaking operational decisions or recommendations that could affect the financial, employee, or public relations posture of the organizationSet area objectives and priorities in support of the Plant's strategy and vision, and for developing teams to deliver results in support of these objectives and priorities, leaving daily tactical direction to Production employeesAssign and coordinate work in a manufacturing department to include supervising first line leadersBuild an inclusive environment to drive sustainable operationsKnowing Our Customers
Partner with peers, manufacturing engineers, process engineers, etc. to clearly understand process and customer expectations in order to meet / exceed customer expectationsAssists in driving to zero defects or failures to customerEnsuring operational procedures exist and are followed to product specifications and quality metrics are met to meet customers' needsLeading And Developing Talent
Drive salaried performance process with their team focusing on performance surround results, impact, behavior, and talentSet clear and measurable performance expectations for self and direct reports aligning with the Waxahachie Plant, Division and Corporate goalsEstablish an engaged workforce characterized by mutual trust, open communications, teamwork, and recognitionMaintain documentation, track, counsel and execute coaching and corrective action when performance issues occurCreate work standards for the hot end and partner with the Talent Leader to execute training for employees in the Batch, Furnace, Binder, and Forming.Creating and sustaining a culture where talent is developed through effective performance management and talent evaluation.Establishing clear and measurable expectations of performance and review commitments to ensure goals are achieved.Actively leading and building effective work teams and committees to increase plant performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering or related discipline requiredMinimum of 3 years manufacturing experienceMinimum 2 years leading people in a complex manufacturing environment or successful completion of a Manufacturing Leadership ProgramExperience :
Experience leading in a Union environmentManufacturing Engineer experience preferredSix Sigma certification and Lean manufacturing experience preferredWillingness to relocate in the future with OCTPM knowledge and understandingKnowledge, Skills & Abilities :
