About The Position

Job Title : Speech Language Pathologist

License : SLP license, in good standing with State

Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS) certified

Must-Have :

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Master's Degree
  • Graduate of an accredited school of speech language pathology
  • BLS certification

Description :

As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will have a unique opportunity to work in diverse settings including outpatient, inpatient, and home health / hospice.

You will join rehabilitation and home health departments and collaborate with other health care professionals.

In all settings, you will work one-on-one with patients and have time allocated for documentation.

In home health / hospice, vehicles are available for staff use.

Ideal candidates will have experience across the various settings.

The Speech Language Pathologist will perform duties to improve patients’ abilities in speech, language, cognition, voice, fluency, breathing, and swallowing.

Therapists will follow physician's orders and coordinate therapeutic activities with patients and caregivers.

You will be part of the interdisciplinary team and will adhere to departmental guidelines.

Essential functions include :

  • Evaluating patients' communication, cognitive, and functional abilities to determine current levels of functioning.
  • Developing and implementing treatment plans involving the patient, family, and support systems.
  • Identifying and providing skilled interventions and advocating for patients' social support systems.
  • Providing medically necessary treatments based on established guidelines.
  • Conducting ongoing assessments of patient progress and adjusting treatments as needed.
  • Documenting services in a timely and complete manner per departmental compliance requirements.
  • Coordinating services with other healthcare disciplines as needed.
  • Participating in quality and performance improvement activities within the department.
  • Supervising temporary licensees and support personnel in compliance with state standards when applicable.
  • Successfully prioritizing requests and maintaining attention to detail.
  • Effectively communicating in both written and oral forms.
  • Working collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Understanding relevant regulatory requirements and maintaining readiness related to healthcare standards.
  • Upholding a culture of safety, quality, and a positive patient experience.
