$2,200 per week

About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Profession : Nursing

Specialty : Pediatric ICU

Duration : 6 months

Shift : Day

Hours per Shift : 12

Experience : Minimum 2 years in PICU

License : Must hold a valid nursing license

Certifications : BLS, PALS required; TNCC appreciated but not required

Must-Have :

2 years of minimum PICU experience

Ability to work Christmas and Christmas Eve

Description :

General Pediatric ICU responsibilities.

This position requires the ability to provide care for critically ill pediatric patients.

Candidates must be proficient in the administration of blood and blood products, antiarrhythmics, and arterial line management.

Experience in assisting and managing intubation and care of ventilated patients is essential.

Knowledge of infection control procedures and proper use of PPE is required.

Candidates should be able to interpret arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias.

Experience with IV insulin pumps, IV vasopressors, and management of dysrhythmias is necessary.

Skills in pediatric dosage calculations, phlebotomy, and PICC line management are also expected.

Telemetry monitoring skills are important in this unit.

Candidates will manage tracheostomy care and ventilator management.

Must be adaptable to a patient ratio of 2-3 during the day and night shifts.

Unit support includes various interdisciplinary teams that collaborate to provide comprehensive patient care.

The unit has a capacity of 13 beds with the potential for more during peak times.

Patients may present with a variety of diagnoses including respiratory illnesses, sepsis, postoperative surgical needs, and hematology oncology.
